Brunch is all the rage in Paris at the moment, but most of them are outrageously expensive and not at all worth their price.
However the newly opened Colorova tea shop specializes in breakfast every day and brunch at the weekend and is a really good deal. The whole atmosphere is very relaxed – with lots of young people and quite a few babies- but that was fine as they were all so adorable and well-behaved!
The brunch starts with freshly squeezed orange juice, a basket of croissants, pains au chocolat and brioches accompanied by cappuccino, hot chocolate or tea. Then came a tartare of salmon with chopped crudités, followed by kefta meat balls with small roast potatoes in a cream of vegetable puree, which I know sounds weird but was in fact very tasty. Another basket of mixed breads came with this and one of our table decided to have scrambled eggs at the last moment, so that was perfect.
There is also a large of selection of cakes available, as well as soft drinks and snacks.
The brunch costs Euros 26 and scrambled eggs were a steal at 3 Euros.
No wonder we had to reserve as Colorova is becoming a very popular venue.
